In my testing, ProMotion was the most noticeable upgrade. The presence of a 20% smaller notch at the top of the display, a slightly brighter screen and the A15 chip all feel like negligible changes at this point-at least based on my early experiences with the phone. I think it’s fair to say that the iPhone 13 Pro Max has only three notable changes versus its predecessor: a ProMotion screen that can reach 120-hertz frame rates, an upgraded camera system and a beefier battery. But this phone is clearly meant to spur upgrades from pre-5G iPhone models, and it will hold Apple over until more significant iPhone changes arrive over the next few years.
